Help Prevent Premature Births
by donating to a worthy organization
researching prematurity and prevention
Our Lily was born prematurely at 25 weeks (6 months) gestation. She was a micro-preemie, weighing just 1 pound 11.5 ounces and was only 13 inches long. Lily spent her first three months in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Lily came home on oxygen, two monitors, and medicine for moderate reflux. Today, Lily is a happy, healthy, and very vocal little girl with no complications. We are very lucky, but we know many parents and preemies are not as fortunate.
We would like to promote the support of The Children's Miracle Network and the Ronald McDonald House. Prior to our ordeal, those were names we would see in passing and to which we hardly gave a second thought. Now, we gratefully acknowledge the valuable services they provide. You never know what you may need until the need arises.
The March of Dimes also does valuable research on the prevention of prematurity and birth defects. There is a televised marathon every year, but the organization accepts contributions all year long.
Your contribution does not need to be cash. There are many ways to support these organizations with fund raisers, donating cellphones or used cars, or even your time. Please visit the links below to see how you can help.
